So, I went to the grocery store with the kids the other day and I felt we were on display. Is it that odd to see a family of four children these days? Some people just smiled at us as I tried to maintain the sanity of myself and kids, others acted as if we were purple. All the kids were very well behaved ( we were only there an hour) so I know they were not staring because they were acting like animals. Why then do they feel the need? One women nearly feel over because she was so busy looking at us. Is it because were a biracial family in an all white or mostly white town? I don't know but it gets on my nerves. It personally warms my heart to see a mom with a bunch of kids in tow.

I experience this too! And the ever-so-rude question, "are they all YOURS?" I think people just aren't used to seeing large families, I don't know. I know what you mean about it warming your heart when you see other large families. I feel the same way!!
Next time, you see someone staring at you and your kids, you should smile and say "could you imagine if I had brought the other 5 kids with me?"...LOL!
